The Chase flip things up on new single ‘Trumpet’ via Clash Magazine…

Out now, the scorching new track is lit up by their trademark live energy, a raucous appeal that saw them pack out London’s Roadtrip recently for their first ever headline night in the capital.

‘Trumpet’ offers more proof of their helter-skelter songwriting. A pumping, surging blast of indie energy, it finds the band – led by brothers Tyler and Dion Heaney – adopting some fresh influences.

The duo have deep Caribbean roots through their mother, a heritage that links them to St. Kitts and Nevis. As a result, there’s a skanking aspect of ‘Trumpet’ that feels lit up by Caribbean colour and vitality, aligned to their indie-punk ethos.

Reminiscent of the Beat or early 00s Liverpool types the Dead 60s, it’s a bold slice of songwriting. Tyler says…

“I think ‘Trumpet’ is our boldest statement yet, it encapsulates where we are and where we are going. It’s fun, it’s catchy, it’s silly and it’s unique. It’s inspired by the likes of The Specials and Madness. I’m buzzing for you all to finally hear this one, BLOW THAT TRUMPET NOW!”

The video builds on the band’s communal appeal, featuring The Chase – and some close friends – heading down the pub. Featuring the Rifles and the Skinner Brothers (amongst others) it’s an eye-catching watch. (Clash Magazine)
